along the Nyanmjang Chu River.

Chorten, a towering Stupa standing at 93 feet tall, constructed during the 13th
century AD by a local monk named Lama
Pradhar.

served as the first resting place for the 14th Dalai Lama upon his escape from
Tibet in 1959.
