The
Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency in Gujarat created a Guinness
World Record by planting over 3.61 lakh saplings in one hour using
the Miyawaki method under the nationwide 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam'
(Plant4Mother) campaign.

Corporation, over 25,000 volunteers, government departments, voluntary

the nationwide 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' (“Plant4Mother”) campaign,
which seeks to transform environmental conservation into a people's movement
through mass public participation.
4. The campaign highlighted the
importance of public participation, meticulous planning and community
commitment towards environmental conservation.
5. The initiative supports the
vision of "Progress with Nature" through activities such as large-scale
tree plantation, development of oxygen parks, restoration of
ponds, and other environmental conservation initiatives.
6. The campaign also emphasises
that plantation must be followed by protection and nurturing of saplings
to ensure long-term ecological benefits.
7. Significance:
The initiative demonstrates a community-driven
model of environmental conservation and reinforces the role of the 'Ek
Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign in promoting green development, sustainable
practices and ecological balance as part of the vision for Viksit Bharat.
