Current relevance:

     The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has successfully launched the Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) Tolling System at Manoharpura Toll Plaza on the Delhi–Jaipur section of NH-48.

 

 

Highlights:

1.         The Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) system is a barrier-less electronic toll collection mechanism that enables vehicles to pass through toll plazas without stopping.

2.       Objective: To create a seamless, barrier-free, and technology-driven toll collection system that improves traffic flow and enhances commuter convenience.

3.       Technology: The system integrates Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology with FASTag-based Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) for automated toll collection.

4.       E-Notice Mechanism:

           i.            Vehicles with insufficient FASTag balance, invalid or non-functional FASTags receive an Electronic Notice (E-Notice).

          ii.            Users must pay the applicable toll within 72 hours, failing which double the normal user fee is charged.

Key features:

1.         Provides barrier-free toll collection with zero waiting time at toll plazas.

2.       Ensures uninterrupted movement of vehicles without stopping.

3.       Automates toll collection through minimal human intervention.

4.       Integrates FASTag and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology for seamless digital toll payments.
