The Ministry of Civil Aviation has approved
India's first Private Point-in-Space (PinS) Instrument Approach Procedure for
helicopter operations at Undavalli Heliport, Andhra Pradesh.
Highlights:

India has approved its first Private Point-in-Space
(PinS) Instrument Approach Procedure for helicopter operations at
Undavalli Heliport.
2.
Point-in-Space (PinS): It is a
satellite-based instrument approach procedure that enables helicopters
to safely approach heliports without conventional instrument landing
infrastructure.
3.
The procedure was developed by the Airports Authority
of India (AAI) and approved by the Directorate General of Civil
Aviation (DGCA) in accordance with ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices
(SARPs).
4.
Technology Integration:
Supports the wider adoption of indigenous
satellite-based navigation technologies, including GAGAN, for
precision aviation operations.
