The National Rainfed Area
Authority (NRAA) conducted a meeting on the draft National Technical
Guidelines (NTG) to promote effective watershed management under the Rejuvenating
Watersheds for Agricultural Resilience through Innovative Development (REWARD) Programme.
About REWARD
1.
The REWARD Programme, launched in 2021, is a watershed
development project focused on strengthening climate-resilient agriculture
and sustainable natural resource management.
2.
The programme is administered by the Ministry of Rural
Development and implemented through the Department of Land Resources
(DoLR), with assistance from the World Bank.
3.
Objective
The programme
seeks to enhance the capabilities of national and state institutions in
watershed management while improving farmers’ resilience and fostering
agricultural value chains.
4.
Financing Mechanism
The REWARD
Programme follows the World Bank’s Program-for-Results (PforR) financing
model, under which funds are disbursed based on the achievement of predefined Disbursement
Linked Indicators (DLIs).
