News: First French long-range missiles already in Ukraine

       France has already made a delivery of a number of SCALP long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine, after President Emmanuel Macron announced the supplies.

       The SCALP/Storm Shadow has a range of 250kilometres (155 miles) and Britain announced in May that it would supply a batch of the advanced weapons.

 

 

SCALP Missiles:

       It is a British-French air-launched cruise missile manufactured by MBDA.

       SCALP is the air-launched long-range, conventionally armed, deep strike weapon, designed to meet the demanding requirements of pre-planned attacks against high-value fixed or stationary targets.

 

Features:

       It is designed to engage fixed or moving targets with high accuracy.

       They are capable of operating in all weather conditions and can be launched from a variety of aircraft, including the Tornado, Rafale and Typhoon.

       Range - 250 to 560 kms.

       SCALP EG is a long-range, air-launched, “fire and forget” cruise missile.

       It offers operators a highly flexible, deep-strike capability based on a sophisticated mission planning system.

       It is equipped with various triple Navigation Systems, and Guidance Systems, including Inertial Navigation, Terrain Tracking Sensors and Radar.
