Current relevance:

         NITI Aayog has released the report "Strategic Roadmap for Making Ayurveda Global", outlining a phased strategy to establish Ayurveda as a globally recognised system of healthcare by 2047.     Highlights:

1.         Objective: To position Ayurveda as a globally recognised, evidence-based healthcare system while promoting research, education, exports, and international collaboration.

2.       The report was prepared by the Health Division of NITI Aayog in collaboration with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

3.        Three-Pillar Framework:

                     i.            Availability
Focuses on global practice and workforce, exports and manufacturing, international research & development, and standardised education.

                    ii.            Acceptability
Promotes regulatory compliance, international collaborations, insurance coverage, and cultural adaptability.

                  iii.            Propagation
Emphasises global branding, international visibility, medical value travel, and participation in global organisations.

Significance:

1.         Supports the vision of One Earth, One Health.

2.       Encourages evidence-based research and innovation for ayurveda.

3.       Strengthens India's role as a global hub for traditional healthcare and wellness.

4.       Enhance India's cultural and knowledge-based soft power.
