A consortium comprising
Microsoft, Singtel, Tata Communications, and Lightstorm has unveiled the
India–International Subsea Express Alliance (I-2SEA).
Highlights:
1.
I-2SEA
(India–International Subsea Express Alliance) is a submarine optical fibre cable system connecting India,
Malaysia, and Singapore to enhance regional digital connectivity.
2.
Objective:
To provide high-speed, low-latency digital connectivity for AI
workloads, cloud services, hyperscalers, enterprises, and data centres across
the India–Southeast Asia corridor.
3.
Implementation
Partners:
i.
NEC
Corporation has
been appointed as the system supplier.
ii.
ASEAN
Cableship (ACPL) will
serve as the marine installation partner.
4.
Provides direct
and low-latency subsea connectivity to Hyderabad, a major AI and
hyperscaler data centre hub.
