Current relevance:
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs inaugurated
a two-day National Workshop on Strengthening Tribal Research Institutes
(TRIs) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and launched TribeX.
Highlights:
1.
The
Ministry of Tribal Affairs, in collaboration with the Government of
Odisha, organised a National Workshop on Strengthening Tribal Research
Institutes (TRIs) in Bhubaneswar.
2.
Aim:
To transform TRIs
into centres of research, innovation, policy support, and cultural
preservation.
3.
About
TribeX:
i.
A
first-of-its-kind digital learning platform for preserving and promoting
tribal arts, languages, culture, and traditional knowledge.
ii.
The
platform includes a Digital Academy offering free certificate and
UGC-aligned diploma courses, along with a Heritage Archive for
documenting tribal literature and oral traditions.
4.
The
Ministry signed an MoU with Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya,
Varanasi, to jointly develop UGC-recognised diploma programmes on tribal
languages, traditional knowledge, arts, textiles, and museology under
TribeX.
5.
Technology
Integration:
Highlighted
the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Geographic Information Systems
(GIS), digital documentation, and data analytics to strengthen research and
policymaking related to tribal communities.
