News: Russia's MiG-29K Aircraft Carrier Fighter Is No Joke

 

What's in the news?

       India ordered MiG-29Ks with the purchase of the Vikramaditya in 2004. In 2009, Russia ordered 24 MiG-29Ks to help replace its aging fleet of Su-33s.

 

MiG-29K Fighters:

       MIG is a twin-engine, multirole fighter jet, developed by Soviet Russia in the 1970s.

       Mikoyan MiG-29K is a Russian all-weather carrier-based multirole fighter aircraft developed by the Mikoyan Design Bureau.

       The Indian Navy is the world’s only organisation which operates the MiG-29K fighter aircraft acquired from Russia.

       Air to Air missile.

       Along with anti-ship and anti-radar operations.

       Has ground strike precision guided weapons.
