News: ‘Operation Ajay’ set to evacuate Indian nationals from Israel

       As the Israel-Hamas war escalated and countries scrambled to bring home their people trapped in the fighting or looking for a way out of the war zone, India announced it was launching Operation Ajay to repatriate its citizens from Israel and Palestine.

       An estimated 18,000 Indians are currently residing in Israel, as confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs.

 

Operation Ajay:

       The initiative aims to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian nationals during a period of increased conflict in the Israel-Palestine area.

       The Indian government will facilitate the return of Indian citizens through special chartered flights.

       Indian Navy ships will also be pressed into service should the need arise.
