Current relevance:
The
All-India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, an autonomous
institute under the Ministry of Ayush, has launched ‘AyurVarta’,
a continuing digital dialogue series to disseminate authentic knowledge,
scientific perspectives and the contemporary relevance of Ayurveda in India
and abroad.

About ‘AyurVarta’:
i.
AyurVarta is a
special digital dialogue series launched by the All India Institute of
Ayurveda (AIIA).
ii.
It aims to take authentic Ayurveda
knowledge, scientific perspectives and its contemporary relevance to wider
audiences in India and abroad.
iii.
It has been conceived as a continuing
digital initiative for informed discussions on different dimensions of
Ayurveda.
iv.
The series will bring together Ayurveda
experts, physicians, academicians, scientists, researchers and policy experts
from India and abroad.

About Ayurveda Day:
i.
Ayurveda
Day was earlier
observed on Dhanvantari Jayanti (Dhanteras).
ii.
The
Government has designated 23 September as the fixed date for its
annual observance.
iii.
A
fixed date is intended to provide greater consistency and a stronger
national and international identity to Ayurveda Day.
iv.
23
September falls around
the Autumnal Equinox, when the duration of day and night is
approximately equal.
v.
The
idea of balance and equilibrium associated with the equinox provides a
conceptual connection with Ayurveda's emphasis on balance, harmony and
well-being.

AyurVarta:
i.
Scientific
Research: Scientific
foundations of Ayurveda, contemporary research and evidence generation.
ii.
Education: Ayurveda education and the role of the
younger generation.
iii.
Public
Health: Applications of
Ayurveda in public health, healthy lifestyles and preventive healthcare.
iv.
Technology:
Innovation and the
application of technology in advancing Ayurveda.
v.
Medical
Integration:
Integration of Ayurveda with modern medical sciences.
vi.
Global
Health: It will examine Ayurveda’s growing global
relevance, international opportunities and expansion.

Evidence-based
Ayurveda: Strengthening
research and evidence generation to promote evidence-based approaches.
