Why in News?
India AI Mission-supported start up
Avataar.ai has launched “Varya”, India’s indigenous AI-powered video generation
model, marking a significant milestone in the country’s efforts to build
sovereign Artificial Intelligence capabilities.
Background
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as
a strategic technology driving economic growth, innovation and national
competitiveness. Most advanced Generative AI models are currently dominated by
companies in the United States and China. To strengthen India’s AI ecosystem,
the Government launched the IndiaAI Mission, promoting indigenous AI research,
computing infrastructure and responsible AI development.
