Current relevance:
The
Union Ministry of Rural Development launched the Rural Internal Audit
Portal ahead of the implementation of the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for
Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin).
Rural Internal Audit Portal:
1.
About: It is an AI-enabled digital platform launched by
the Ministry of Rural Development for end-to-end management of
internal audits of rural development schemes.
2.
Objective: To strengthen financial
oversight, enhance audit transparency through digital monitoring,
detect irregularities and fund misutilisation, and promote good governance
in rural development schemes.
3.
Key Features:
(i)
Supports both risk-based and compliance
audits.
(ii)
unified digital platform for audit
management.
(iii) Replaces paper-based
and manual audit processes with a technology-driven and data-driven
system.
Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika
Mission (Gramin) [VB-G RAM G]:
1.
Background: It is replacing the Mahatma
Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), 2005.
2.
Objective: To provide a statutory guarantee of
125 days of wage employment per financial year. Promoting
sustainable livelihoods, durable rural assets, and holistic rural development in
line with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
3.
It is Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS)
4.
Beneficiaries: Eligible rural households whose
adult members volunteer to undertake unskilled manual work.
