The Development and Welfare Board for De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities (DWBDNC) under the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment is organising SAMAVESH UTSAV at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC), New Delhi.

About SAMAVESH
UTSAV:
i.
Organiser: Development and
Welfare Board for De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities (DWBDNC).
ii.
Administrative Department:
Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.
iii.
Participation: Around 700
members of DNT communities, including community leaders, artisans
and beneficiaries, are expected to participate.
iv.
Core Focus: The event forms
part of initiatives aimed at ensuring inclusion, empowerment and progress
of DNT communities.

Major Features:
i.
SEED Success Stories:
Achievements and beneficiary experiences under the Scheme for Economic
Empowerment of DNTs (SEED) will be showcased.
ii.
Traditional Skills: The
event highlights the traditional skills and craftsmanship of DNT artisans.
iii.
Artisan Products: Products made by
artisans belonging to DNT communities will be displayed.
iv.
Artisan Stalls: Dedicated stalls
of DNT artisans will be established.
v.
Bharat-TULIP Heritage Store: The
event will also feature the Bharat-TULIP Heritage Store.
3.
Development and
Welfare Board for DNTs (DWBDNC):
i.
The Development
and Welfare Board for De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities
(DWBDNC) was constituted by the Central Government through a
notification dated 21 February 2019.
ii.
Purpose: It was
constituted to implement welfare and development programmes for De-notified,
Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic communities.
iii.
It functions under the Department of Social
Justice and Empowerment.
4.
Scheme for Economic
Empowerment of DNTs (SEED):
i.
Purpose: The SEED Scheme
was launched to promote the holistic welfare and empowerment of DNT
communities.
The Scheme focuses on four major areas:

Education: The Scheme
supports the educational welfare of DNT communities.
iii.
Health: It seeks to
improve their health and well-being.
iv.
Livelihood: It promotes
livelihood opportunities and economic empowerment.
v.
Housing: It supports the
housing needs of DNT communities.
5.
Geographical
Coverage of SEED:
i.
The SEED Scheme is being implemented in eight
States—Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana,
Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh—where the respective State Governments are
issuing DNT certificates.

Significance:
i.
Social Inclusion: SAMAVESH UTSAV
provides a platform for promoting the inclusion and empowerment of DNT
communities.
ii.
Economic Empowerment: SEED
interventions in livelihood and other welfare areas support their broader
socio-economic development.
iii.
Cultural Recognition:
Showcasing traditional skills, craftsmanship and products gives visibility to
the cultural and productive capabilities of DNT artisans.
iv.
Community Participation:
Participation of community members, leaders, artisans and beneficiaries
strengthens their involvement in welfare initiatives.
v.
Welfare Convergence: The
event provides a platform to highlight SEED and other Central Government
initiatives for DNT communities.
vi.
Holistic Development: The
focus on education, health, livelihood and housing reflects a multidimensional
approach towards the welfare of DNT communities.
